Chris Salis: Paving Way for Many with His Mentorship
In a world full of competition, every beginner needs the guidance of a veteran who can mentor him to deal with different situations of thick and thin. That is why Chris Salis always looks forward to mentoring others, including his teammates and people coming up with start-ups.
Having spent more than two decades in the ever-changing field of technology, Chris Salis has brought a revolutionary result in the functioning of many businesses. He started his profession as the IT Procurement Manager at Adecco Employment Services.
While working for over a couple of years in this leading HR provider, he left the company. He then began serving at Gap Inc in the position of Strategic Sourcing manager. Chris has also served eBay and handled Procurement, Operational Excellence, and Strategic Sourcing.
After spending nine months in eBay, he became a part of Business Objects for almost four years. Here, he started as the Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Manager. However, his diligence paved his way for becoming Global Go-To-Market Process & Project Manager, and later on to Executive Director.
Seeing his industrious efforts, he was offered the position of Vice President, when Business Objects became a part of SAP. Even after this position, he continued applying his enormous efforts, which paved his way to becoming Global Vice President.
Throughout becoming an old-timer in the tech industry, Chris Salis has led several teams and has encouraged many colleagues. He considers employees as a critical asset for every company. Following this belief, he always walks the extra mile to guide and inspire his co-workers.
Salis also believes that mutual efforts lay the foundation of satisfactory results. Not just as a leader, but he employs this belief for guiding start-ups too. Being a start-up advisor, he makes use of several philosophies for it. It includes the Getting Things Done method by David Allen and the Lean Start-up philosophy.
Apart from it, another quality that makes him different from the crowd is his point of view for every situation. He sees it as a new opportunity to learn from others. One of the best examples of this lies in his life outside the office. He undeniably considers his parenthood experience as one of the best instances ever happened to him. At the same time, Chris Salis also sees it as an opportunity to guide others about challenges that come in the way of becoming a parent.
